The dataset includes aggregated Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) data for the years 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2021 for the countries/regions surveyed.
PIRLS is an assessment of reading literacy conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) at five-year intervals. PIRLS is carried out on a representative random sample of fourth-grade students in each country conducting the survey. In addition to reading comprehension scores, the collection includes socio-economic data.
