Bacillus velezensis S_51 was originally isolated from Antarctic soil on King George Island and subjected to a 10-passage adaptive laboratory evolution experiment under increasing salinity. This dataset includes genomes of the native strain and salinity-adapted lineages obtained after passages 3, 5, 8, and 10. The strains were sequenced using a hybrid strategy combining Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina platforms.
For ONT sequencing, libraries were prepared using the Native Barcoding Kit 96 V14 (SQK-NBD114-96; Oxford Nanopore Technologies), and sequencing was performed on R10.4.1 flow cells. Illumina sequencing was conducted by Eurofins Genomics on an Illumina NextSeq instrument in 2 × 151 bp paired-end mode. Hybrid genome assemblies were generated using the clinopore-nf pipeline, followed by genome annotation with Bakta and quality assessment with CheckM.
