Whole-genome sequences of Escherichia coli strains isolated from patients with uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) were obtained using Illumina technology (Eurofins and Microsynth). Illumina technology: run type: paired, read length: 2 x 150 bp, output: approx. 5 million read pairs; guaranteed min. 100x average coverage.
Genome sequences of transposon mutants derived from strain PEG16-4-56 were obtained using the Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION platform (Oxford Nanopore Technologies, Oxford, United Kingdom) (Microsynth). Oxford nanopore (ONT) long-read sequencing of bacterial genomes ≤7 Mb, genome coverage >30 fold.
The study was performed by the Institute of Microbiology, University of Warsaw, and cofounded by Adamed Pharma S.A. and the National Center for Research and Development (Poland) with the Project „Development of an innovative urological drug with Furazidine, which is a response to growing drug resistance of microorganisms causing urinary infections” no.
