Zestaw zawiera dokumenty archiwalne dotyczących relacji Polski z Układem Ogólnym ws. Taryf Celnych i Handlu oraz Europejską Wspólnotą Gospodarczą w kontekście polityki zagranicznej i zagranicznej polityki gospodarczej i zimnowojennego odprężenia w latach 1955-1970.
Systematyczna kwerenda prowadzona była w dwóch polskich archiwach – Archiwum Akt Nowych (AAN) i Archiwum Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych (AMSZ) – oraz w archiwum internetowym Układu Ogólnego ws. Taryf Celnych i Handlu (GATT). Selekcja zespołów archiwalnych i poszczególnych teczek poddanych kwerendzie prowadzona była celowo, by dotrzeć do najważniejszych dokumentów instytucjonalnych, zawierających założenia i uzasadnienia polityki zagranicznej i zagranicznej polityki gospodarczej zarówno rządowych (resortowych), jak i partyjnych (Komitet Centralny Polskiej Zjednoczonej Partii Robotniczej). W związku z tym objęła przede wszystkim, zespoły i serie dokumentów wytworzonych przez kluczowe komórki organizacyjne każdej z tych instytucji (np. gabinety ministrów w przypadku obu resortów, Departament Międzynarodowych Organizacji MSZ, departamenty traktatów w MHZ, Biuro Polityczne i Sekretariat Pierwszego Sekretarza w przypadku KC PZPR).
Plik z danymi zawiera dwa foldery – każdy dla jednego archiwum (AAN, GATT). Dołączony plik .xlsx zawiera metadane załączonych dokumentów archiwalnych i dokumentów dostępnych online wraz z oznaczeniem właściwego archiwum, nazwą zespołu, sygnaturą, nazwą dokumentu, informacją o autorach i dacie powstania.
