Dążymy do pogłębionego rozumienia zjawisk społecznych i krytycznego oglądu wszelkich oczywistości. Przez rozwój innowacyjnych badań naukowych, przełomowe publikacje i kształcenie kolejnych pokoleń wybitnych ekspertów i specjalistów, ale również przez obecność w życiu publicznym członkowie naszej społeczności potwierdzają nieustannie swoją wiarę w socjologię i jej społeczną misję.

Nasi pracownicy byli i są świadkami, uczestnikami, wybitnymi badaczami i komentatorami najważniejszych przemian w Polsce ostatnich dziesięcioleci – reprezentując różne podejścia i różne światopoglądy, zdołali stworzyć wizerunek socjologii na Karowej: socjologii otwartej i zaangażowanej w życie publiczne. To zasób, na którym dziś budujemy i który chcemy rozwijać. Podejmujemy więc nowe wyzwania badawcze, publikacyjne, organizacyjne i dydaktyczne, które wszystkie łączy hasło: socjologia.

It is part of our faculty tradition to be open to all ideas, worldviews, challenges and research approaches.

We strive for a deeper understanding of social phenomena and a critical view of the obvious. Members of our community constantly confirm their belief in sociology and its social mission through the development of innovative research, groundbreaking publications, and the training of successive generations of outstanding experts and specialists and through our presence in public life.

Our staff have been and continue to be witnesses, participants, outstanding researchers and commentators on the most important transformations in Poland in recent decades – representing different approaches and different worldviews, they have managed to create an image of sociology at Karowa: a sociology that is open and engaged in public life. This is a resource that we are building on today and that we want to develop. So we take on new research, publications, organizational and teaching challenges, all of which are united under the banner of: sociology.
